About Cake & Cookie Decorating
Kids decorate pre-baked cookies or a mini cake with royal icing piping bags, sprinkles, edible glitter and themed candy. Our pastry chef demonstrates simple techniques, then sets the kids loose.
Everything arrives ready to work with. The baking happens in our kitchen the day before — soft sugar cookies, properly chilled royal icing at the right consistency, piping bags already filled and tipped so small hands can squeeze without a fight. What kids get is the good part: the designing.
The chef starts with a two-minute demo — how to outline, how to flood, how to drag a toothpick through wet icing to make a heart. Then the table opens up. There are twenty-plus sprinkle types, edible pearls, gold dust, candy eyes and enough color to lose an hour in. Some kids follow the demo exactly; others invent something nobody’s seen before. Both end up beaming.
Each kid takes home a beautiful (and entirely edible) box of their creations. We can customize with theme cookies — unicorns, dinosaurs, sports balls, holiday shapes, or your party’s exact design if you send it to us five days ahead. Gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free batches are available on request.
Calm, sweet, deeply satisfying. Pairs beautifully with a quiet party theme or as a ‘wind-down’ activity at the end of an active celebration — there’s something about concentrating on a piping bag that settles a room full of over-sugared six-year-olds. And yes, a cookie or two gets eaten before the box is closed. We plan for that.

Yes — we accommodate gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free on request. Just brief us 5 days in advance and we’ll bake a separate batch so no child ends up with a different, sadder cookie than everyone else.
Absolutely — send us your theme and we’ll bake matching shapes. Unicorns, dinosaurs, sports balls, holiday shapes, or your party’s exact design. Five days’ notice lets us cut custom stencils.
Four to six cookies, or one mini cake. Everything goes home in a gift box — though realistically one or two get eaten before the lid closes, and we plan for that.
5 minimum, up to 12 per chef. For bigger parties we bring a second pastry chef so every child still gets hands-on guidance rather than a demo from across the room.
